Kee Movie Review

Rating: 2

Kee Movie Tagline:

Jiiva's film has an interesting concept, but too diluted

Kee Movie Summary:

Siddharth (played by Jiiva) is a hacker and is happy as he is blessed with a lovable family. Rajendra Prasad and Suhasini play his mother and father. Siddharth is content with his life and has the most fun by practising hacking. However, his most-loved profession, which is hacking, is now posing a huge threat to him.

When Siddharth is caught in an unexpected incident, another fellow hacker (played by Govind Padmasoorya) outsmarts him and poses a threat to the life of his near and dear ones. The rest of the film is a battle between good vs evil and how the good triumphs defying all odds.

Kee Movie Performances:

It has been quite a while since Jiiva delivered a hit film in the last couple of years. With Kee, he had a mighty chance and he has delivered a brilliant performance after a long time.

The villain, played by Govind Padmasoorya, is equally adept and has his expressions at the right dose. His performance, along with Jiiva's, are the backbone of this thriller flick, Kee.

Nikki Galrani appears as the female lead who is head over heels in love with the hero. She has a good role and has performed to the best of her abilities.

Having seasoned actors like Rajendra Prasad and Suhasini Mani Ratnam on board is a huge plus to any film. In the film Kee, the two actors have delivered nuanced performances that are required for the role.

Kee Movie Positives:

For a debutant director, coming up with a thriller script as his first film needs a lot of guts. Director Kalees has a meaty script on hand involving hacking, which is one of the interesting topics to base a film on.

There are a handful of exciting sequences that are informative and would take you by surprise. The use of technology and electronic devices by the villain to manipulate and exploit the characters in the film is interesting and scary to watch.

While watching Kee on screen, you are reminded of PS Mithran's Irumbu Thirai, which dealt with a similar concept. And it is difficult to not draw comparisons between these two films.

Kee Movie Negatives:

To be honest, Kee is not as effective as Irumbu Thirai was. The main disadvantage of Kee is that it does not have an arresting screenplay that is needed for a film which is based on hacking.

Also, the script of Kee lacks detailing and there are too many logic loopholes that spoil the depth of the proceedings. If Kalees could have concentrated a bit more on the happenings, Kee would have been an Irumbu Thirai for Jiiva.

The unnecessary romance angle between Jiiva and Nikki Galrani slows down the actual pace of the film. On top it, when a crucial scene is underway, the inclusion of emotional angle in totally ruined it.

Kee Movie Verdict:

Kee has a meaty script that could have been explored well. The film showcases the perils of technology and the ill effects it has in one's life. Despite logical loopholes and incoherent screenplay, Kee is a one-time watch.
