Did Election Commission frame-up to support TRS?The advent of technology is influencing every possible thing and Elections is no difference thing, Gone are the days when people used to wait for days together to know which political party won. Counting of votes has become much easier as EVMs are being used and this technology has brought the troubles equally to the Election Commission. With EVMs being used, the EC officials are able to declare the voting percentage as soon as the polling was ended. But in this time's elections in Telangana, two stats were announced, one on the day of the elections and the another a day after. And to everyone’s surprise, these two numbers have shown different figures which have become the subject of speculation now. Oppositions and political circles are raising doubts about tampering of EVMs and rigging in the polling booths. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the polling at Secunderabad and Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituencies which are said to be the main ones in the state was concluded at 4.30 pm, far early than the allowed time. The EC has declared the voting percentage at these constituencies to be 39 per cent by the end of the day. In contrary with this, EC has released another statement specifying the percentage to be 46 and that polling was extended till 5 pm. This has raised the eyebrows of many political analysts about the loopholes in the election procedure.Kishan Reddy, BJP candidate in Telangana has brought this issue to the limelight that this glitches in votes counting has happened with many other constituencies also. According to the information he collected from various polling booths, he said that Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar LS constituencies have the difference in voting percentage. As Nalgonda has 15.85 lakh voters, 66.11 per cent voting was recorded and the next day’s reports have the figure changed to 74.11 per cent.Few of the polling booths were found completely deserted but the reports of the EC were in contrary with the on-field reports. Does this indicate that Telangana Assembly polls results were manipulated to suit the ruling party in power?
