Competing for the streaming giants like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video, HBO has launched its own video on demand platform called HBO Max. This new streaming platform got launched the other day. Currently, it is available in the US and a few of its other territories. Meanwhile, HBO Max will not be available on Amazon Platforms. The officials of Amazon took this decision in order to offer more new services through its Prime Video Channels.

Speaking to Engadget, a spokesperson of Amazon said that if people are paying for HBO, they are being entitled to new programming through the method they are already using. He stated that nearly 5 million HBO streamers currently access their subscription through Amazon Prime Video channels. Due to the launch of HBO Max, AT&T is not allowing the HBO users to choose their expanded catalog.

HBO's parent company Warner Media didn't directly respond to the statement of Amazon. Their spokesperson said that they look forward to a deal that is on par with how Amazon allows access to Disney+, Hulu, and Netflix. He said that they are quite thrilled with the wide database of HBO Max. He added that their goal is to make HBO available on every platform. That makes it accessible for a wide range of users. He concluded by saying that they are looking forward to signing agreements with various platforms, including Amazon's Fire Stick. We have to see if Amazon sticks to its policy or signs a deal with HBO. As of now, HBO Max is getting a raving response from the users for its wide catalog.
