MAMI International Film Festival chairperson Deepika Padukone is excited for the film festival that is going to take off in a few more hours.
The board members of Jio MAMI Film Festival have unanimously selected popular Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone as the chairperson of the festival earlier this year. The Ram Leela actress took up the duties graciously and is now gearing up for her inaugural season as the festival chairperson.
Speaking ahead of the festival launch, Deepika said, 'The one thing that binds all of us and brings all of us together is our passion for cinema and for creativity. I think that now being chairperson really allowed me to explore that further, engage with the teams in a manner that I wasn't exposed to before. Just to see us put together something that is giving back to the community of people who are really passionate about cinema, is extremely rewarding.'
'I think we have done pretty well so far. It gave me goosebumps to see so many audiences today (at the Movie Mela) and to see that every year it just gets bigger and better. I look forward to many such experiences,' she further added.
