For The First Time In His 25-Year Film Career; Kunchacko Boban At The Locarno Film Festival With 'Ariyippu'

Last month, news broke that Mahesh Narayanan's 'Ariyippu' has been selected for the Locarno Film Festival. The announcement also has the distinction of being the first Malayalam film to be selected for the competition section of the festival. The film will be screened at the fair today. Kunchacko Boban is sharing the details of Switzerland.
 
'I am here for the 75th Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland. Continuing the love for the Devadoothar song.. I am here at the 75th Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland. Our film 'Ariyippu' will be screened today in the competition category. Participating in a film festival will be the first experience in 25 years of my film career. Let's start from Locarno, it's a great blessing and honour,' Kunchacko Boban shared the video. Kunchacko Boban had earlier shared his joy on the 75th anniversary of Udaya Pictures with a film produced by the same banner bagging the achievement.
 
Ariyippu is the fourth film under the direction of Mahesh Narayan. His previous films are Take Off, Malik and C U Soon. Divya Prabha is the heroine of the film. The film revolves around a Malayali couple working in a factory in Noida.
 
Previously, Nizhalkuth directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan was screened at the Locarno Film Festival. But this was not in the competitive category. But it was in the Special Showcase section. Rituparna Ghosh directed Bengali film Antarmahal has been selected for the Locarno Festival competition category.
