IMDB’s list of top ten 2019 Indian films

Mammotty’s ‘Peranbu’ takes Tamil cinema to the top spot on IMDB’s list of 2019 Indian films.

This year’s IMDB list of top 10 Indian films was released on Monday and it’s a mixture of diverse cinema by film industries from all over the nation. Based on viewer ratings, Tamil drama ‘Peranbu’ has claimed the first spot. The movie features superstar Mammotty, Anjali, Sadhana and Anjali Ameer in lead roles. This film has been written and directed by Ram, and released worldwide. Despite being an early release this year, it’s bound to stay with the audience for a long time and rightfully qualifies to lead this list, with its extraordinarily sensitive portrayal of a father-daughter relationship.
 
Following this drama is the Bollywood hit ‘Uri: the surgical strike’ starring Vicky Kaushal, popular for the patriotic drive it created nation-wide. While standing third is ‘Gully Boy’, a film inspired by the lives of Indian street rappers.
 
Next up is Ayushmann Khurana's ‘Article 15’, a controversial super hit, in the fourth place. A fifth is Sushanth Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor starer ‘Chhichhore’.

Hritik Roshan starrer ‘Super 30’ came sixth, while the comeback of Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu duo for another thriller,‘Badla’ stands seventh. Despite receiving a poor collection at the box office, ‘The Tashkent Files’ came in at eight, while Akshay Kumar's super hit ‘Kesari’ came ninth. Standing at the tenth place is a Malayalam action film ‘Lucifer’, featuring Mohanlal.
 
Internationally, Joaquin Pheonix’s ‘Joker’ stood first this year.
