Kangana Ranaut’s Queen was one of 2014's most popular and successful films. Kangana Ranaut bagged a National Award for her role. The Vikas Bahl directorial is now being remade by the major southern film industries - Tollywood, Kollywood, Mollywood, and Sandalwood. The Malayalam version titled Zam Zam stars Manjima Mohan and the Tamil version titled Paris Paris stars Kajal Aggarwal. The Kannada version titled Butterfly stars Parul Yadav as the lead and the Telugu version titled That is Mahalakshmi stars Tamannaah. The latest buzz is that Paris Paris might have a direct to OTT release.

Not only the Tamil version, but rumor also has it the makers are in talks with Amazon Prime to release all the versions on the platform.

The films were ready to hit the theaters as of last year. While the Kannada and Malayalam version received their certification from the censor board, the Tamil version had faced several issues. The censor board had ordered the makers to cut 25 scenes to receive a non A certification.

Under such circumstances and the added issues owing to the coronavirus outbreak, an OTT release seems a lot more feasible now.

Manu Kumaran has produced all the versions under his home banner Mediante Films. Ramesh Aravind has directed the Tamil and Kannada versions. Neelakantan has directed the Malayalam version. He was to direct the Telugu version as well. However, due to some issues, he backed out. Prashanth Varma stepped in to direct the film later on.

Meanwhile, Kajal Aggarwal has an array of films coming up. She is all set to appear in the films such as Mosagallu, Mumbai Saga.
