Bollywood diva expresses great shock on hearing of Abe's assassination

Bollywood celebrities have taken to social media to express their respect for the former prime minister of Japan. Shinzo Abe, former prime minister of Japan played an integral role in expanding the bilateral ties between India and Japan. The former premier was shot dead by Yamagami Tetsuya a former member of Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force.
 
Anupam Kher wrote in a tweet “Deeply saddened & shocked by the assassination of former PM of Japan Shinzo Abe He was one of the most compassionate world leaders! And a great friend of India! His face reflected kindness! Very rare for a person in politics! My condolences to his family & people of Japan!”
 
Kangana Ranaut meanwhile took to Instagram to express her disbelief and stress how important the former prime minister Abe was to India
 
“Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has died after being shot while giving a speech in the western city of Nara today, sad day. India lost a great friend. Om Shanti.”
 
Condolences for the fallen former prime minister and messages of solidarity with the Japanese people are pouring in from all over India.
