Karthik Shankar To Make His Directorial Debut Film In Telugu

Karthik Shankar is a favorite of the Malayalam audience through his short films and web series. Karthik is currently gearing up for his first directorial venture in cinema. Karthik is making his directorial debut in Tollywood. This is the first time a Malayalee has done his first directorial venture in Telugu. Kodi Ramakrishna’s daughter Kodi Divya will produce the film. The pooja of the film had held today at Annapurna Studio, Hyderabad. The film stars Telugu young star Kiran Abbavaram in the lead role. Kannada actress Sanjana Anand will play the lead female role in the film. “I was in talks to make a film in Malayalam. It was then that the team of this film approached me after seeing my works. That is why it was decided to make the first film in Telugu. I did what I was supposed to do in Malayalam for Telugu cinema;” said Karthik Shankar. Mani Sharma, one of India's leading music directors composes the music for the film. The shooting of the film will start in the first week of November. Karthik Shankar's short films started gaining attention during the Covid lockdown. Karthik Shankar's 'Mom and Son' series went viral on social media making the audience laugh out loud. Each of Karthik's videos received millions of views. Karthik's series was taken over by ‘Funtastic Films’ led by Visakh Subramanian, Aju Varghese, and Dhyan Srinivasan. Aju Varghese also appeared in one episode of the series.
