Tollywood lost another gem last night, in the form of legendary director K Vishwanath, who is known for making classical films in the industry. The director made several movies throughout his career, each movie being a milestone in Tollywood. The director passed away on Thursday night, aged 92. Vishwanath started his career in 1951, as an assistant director to Paatala Bhairavi. He made his debut as a director in 1965, with Aatma Gouravam, which won the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film that year.

Vishwanath had a prolific career, with most of his films having a huge artistic flair. His most memorable work remains to be Shankarabharam, to date. Vishwanath had often collaborated with Kamal Haasan, and the two gave immemorable films like Swathi Muthyam and Sagara Sangamam. Almost every top actor had worked with Vishwanath at the time.
