Jamuna made her acting debut in 1953, at the age of 16, in Dr. Garikapati Rajarao's Puttillu. Jamuna was born in Hampi on August 30, 1936. She mesmerized the Hindi-speaking public by becoming the most gorgeous actress of her time. Milan, starring Sunil Dutt, is only one example of her work in Hindi movies.
Jamuna joined the Congress party in the 1980s and won the Rajahmundry seat in the Lok Sabha election of 1989. She stepped out of politics in 1991 after losing the election. She briefly ran a campaign for the BJP in the late 1990s, during the administration of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Regarding her private life, Jamuna was wed to Juluri Ramana Rao, an SV University professor of biology. At the age of 86, he died on November 10th, 2014 from a heart attack. Vamsee Juluri, a son, and Sravanthi, a daughter, are their children.
