Lokesh Kanagaraj Discusses His Next Film With Thalapathy Vijay; Ends Silence Over It Being A Part Of The LCU

Thalapathy Vijay has returned as Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master leading man for his upcoming film. Their next movie has drawn a lot of attention due to the enormous success of their last project. The Tamil celebrity and the filmmaker are quiet about the movie's specifics. The Vikram director recently chose to open up and give spectators an update on his next project. He also put an end to rumours that the Thalapathy 67 would be included in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Readers are likely aware that director Lokesh Kanagaraj previously expressed a desire to combine several action comedies under the banner of LCU. And with a crossover starring Kaithi and Vikram, the director has already begun building the groundwork for the film. Rolex, a character performed by Suriya, was added to it and is anticipated to be included in the LCU. However, the filmmaker recently offered slight bad news to Vijay fans. He declared that Thalapathy 67 will not be among the action franchise. “I can’t talk about the project now. But I can say that it won’t be part of the universe', he said. He added that he has been keeping quiet about the movie as he won't be able to give any information until Varisu opens in theatres. “It’ll be a gangster film but I can only share more information about the project after the release of Varisu”, he further added. For the uninitiated, Varisu is a bilingual Telugu and Tamil drama that will debut on January 12, 2023. Thalapathy 67 has its actors' and crew's identities still kept a secret. Recent rumours have claimed that Trisha is cast as the movie's leading lady. The two will be seen working together again on the big screen after a 14-year separation.
