The filming of Mammootty’s upcoming film ‘CBI Five’ will start on November 29 in Palakkad. ‘CBI five’ is the fifth edition of the CBI series. The film ‘CBI Five’ will mark as the reunion film between SN Swamy, K Madhu, and Mammootty. Swargachithra Appachan produces the film ‘CBI five’ under the banner of Swargachithra. ‘CBI Five’ will also mark the return of the Swargachithra film productions to the industry after years.

However, in the fifth part, Saikumar will be the only character from the old CBI series. SN Swamy had said that Jagathy Sreekumar would not be available due to ill health. The CBI series is the only film in Malayalam to have the fifth installment. The editions of CBI Diary Kuripp, Jaagratha, Sethurama Iyer CBI, and Nerarian CBI have been released so far.

Swamy had said that Mammootty's character Sethurama Iyer will not change in age and appearance when it comes to the fifth part. “Fans did not like the change in appearance in the past. If there is a change in the story, the character can change something. Because people still want to see that Sethurama Iyer;” said Swami. Swami added that he had told them not to change a single hair.

Meanwhile, Mammootty's last film was ‘Puzhu’ directed by Ratheena. After that, Mammootty is going to Europe for the shooting of the Telugu film ‘Agent’. When he returns, Mammootty will join Lijo Pellissery for Netflix's anthology based on MT stories. Mammootty will join CBI Five in the first week of December after the Lijo Jose film.
