‘Marakkar : The Lion Of Arabian Sea’ Will Not Hit The Theatres Soon

Reports suggest that the film ‘Marakkar : The Lion of Arabian Sea’ will not have its release even if theatres reopen.

Reports suggest that the Priyadarshan-Mohanlal movie ‘Marakkar: The Lion of Arabian Sea’ will not hit the theatres soon. This is due to audiences are less likely to come to the theater because of the Covid situation. So the expected profit is unlikely to meet. Reportedly, the release of the film announces only after examining all the circumstances. Since it is a Pan-Indian release, the situation in other states also needs to take into consideration.
Marakkar is the most expensive movie in Malayalam. Director Priyadarshan had earlier stated that the film will not release through OTT. Mohanlal said that the film will run for at least 21 days on at least 600 screens.
Earlier, Priyadarshan had revealed the plans about releasing Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham. “We were supposed to release on 12 August. But with Covid raging across some states it seems unlikely. But whenever we release it will be in theatres only. The Kerala Film Distributors Association has promised to give us a 3-week window whenever we release Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham;” said Priyadarshan.
The film will have its release in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Marakkar has a budget of Rs 100 crore. Ani IV Sasi and Priyadarshan scripted the film 'Marakkar: The Lion of the Arabian Sea’. Apart from Mohanlal, the film stars Manju Warrier, Sunil Shetty, Prabhu, and Keerthi Suresh in the lead roles.
