Gandhi Jayanthi is an event celebrated in India to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is celebrated annually on 2 October, and it is one of the three national holidays of India. Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian politician who served as the second Prime Minister of India. Sharing his birthday with Mahatma Gandhi, he is greatly influenced by Gandhi. His slogan: 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,' which is popular during the Indo-Pakistan war in 1965.
Chiranjeevi Konidela reminiscing Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Sastri speaks his mind by sharing a note on Twitter, he wrote: “Remembering our founding fathers..#MahatmaGandhi #LalBahadurShastriJi'. The note he shared reads: “GANDHI is NOT just a name. It is an ideal, an ideology. Today more than ever the world needs his ideals of Truth, Peace & Non-Violence. Remembering & invoking the Father of the Nation, our beloved Bapu, Mahatma Gandhi on his 151 st birth anniversary. His simple thought of ‘Jai Jawaan & Jai Kisaan’ is powerfully evocative of our eternal gratitude. Saluting Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary.” He also added a picture of Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shashtri along with their respective quotes. The Lal Bahadur Shashtri quote reads: 'The loyalty to the country comes ahead of all other loyalties. Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan', whereas Gandhi quote reads: 'Be the change that you want to see in the world'.
