Mission Majnu Director Shantanu Bagchi Talks About Working With Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna

Mission Majnu is a spy thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna. The film skipped theatrical release and streamed on Netflix last week. The film also marks debutant director Shantanu Bagchi. The film is based on a true incident. Post the success of the film, Shantanu opened up about working with Sidharth and Rashmika. The film received mixed responses from critics and audiences alike. Mission Majnu was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Sharing his experience of working with the handsome hunk Sidharth Malhotra, Shantanu said, 'A great performance from an actor comes after lots of hard work but on screen, it has to look effortless and real. Sid achieved this in the movie. I have witnessed Sid’s drive to excel in Mission Majnu. We had lots of discussions, readings, and rehearsals – in short it was exciting to work with him. It is a wonderful feeling as a director when you see an actor going beyond your expectation.' On the other hand, sharing his experience of working with the national crush Rashmika Mandanna, Shantanu said, 'I always believed, as far as acting is concerned – Less is more. Rashmika is an actress who can sit on a chair, do very little, and yet move you to tears. Not an easy thing to do. It needs tremendous restraint and skill at the same time. It was an absolute joy to see her going through various workshops and bringing all her learnings to play the role of a blind girl.'
