Recently, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced a 21 member Cabinet list. However, everyone was shocked to find out that former health minister KK Shailaka aka Shailaja teacher was left out of the list. Last year, Shailaja won accolades for dealing with the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic efficiently. She also won the Mattanur constituency seat by a huge margin of 60,000 votes. KK Shailaja won a special place in everyone's hearts with the way she dealt with medical emergencies such as the Nipah virus or the coronavirus pandemic.
Parvathy took to Twitter to call out CM Pinarayi Vijayan's decision and wrote, '#beingourteacherback @shailajateacher deserves to be in the cabinet and the people of the state deserve her able leadership!@CMOKerala We deserve better than this! #bringourteacherback One of the ablest leaders of our times! A rarity, really! @shailajateacher led the state through the most difficult of medical emergencies. She won from the Mattannur constituency in her hometown of Kannur, with a margin of over 60,963 votes! A landslide victory! The highest margin in the 140-member Assembly! And while we are still fighting the second wave of COVID-19, @cpimkerala decides to relegate her to the role of party whip??! Is this for real? No justifications to this! The people chose their leaders and this sidelining puts the party in a very questionable position. What’s more important than immediate and able governance! Bring our teacher back! (sic).'
