According to reports, actor Prabhas' upcoming Telugu science-fiction action-drama Project K, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles, will be released in two parts. The first installment of the film is expected to be released in April 2024.
Prabhas and Nag Ashwin, best known for directing the Savitri biopic Mahanati, are working together for the first time on this project. This is also Deepika's first collaboration with Prabhas.
“The vision and plot point of Project K is so big that the makers have decided to make it a 2-part film. The first part will establish the world and conflict of this magnum opus. The entire drama will unfold in the second half, much like what happened in the Bahubali Franchise. Project K is envisioned as the biggest film of Indian Cinema. It will be with a conflict like never before and celebrates the 50 years of producers, Vyjayanthi Movies,” a source said.
Recently, director Nag Ashwin revealed that he had finished filming the first schedule. The part includes Prabhas' introduction scene. He continued by saying that Prabhas looks very cool in the scene. Vyjayanthi Films is funding the project, which is set to be released next year, on a large scale.
In March of last year, Ashwin took to Twitter to ask Anand Mahindra for help in developing futuristic vehicles for the film. He went on to say that what they're doing in the film could make the country proud.
He wrote:
Requesting Mahindra’s support, Ashwin further wrote:
