'Ramayan' Actor Chandrashekhar Vaidya Passes Away In Mumbai At 97

Veteran actor and social activist Chandrashekhar Vaidya passed away earlier today. Chandrashekhar died of old-age ailments. Best known for his portrayal of Arya Sumant in the hit television series Ramayan, Vaidya had appeared in nearly 200-250 Bollywood films. Vaidya was the grandfather of Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka fame actor Shakti Arora.
Chandrashekhar Vaidya passed away due to old age-related ailments at around 7 am today. His son, Ashok told the Times of India that the funeral will take place later today. The last rites will take place at Pawan Hans in Vile Parle at 4 pm today. Ashok revealed that Chandrashekhar died a peaceful death.
Chandrashekhar Vaidya made his debut as a leading actor with the 1953 film Surang. He has appeared in several popular films such as Gateway of India and Barsaat Ki Raat. Cha Cha Cha remains one of Vaidya's most famous and appreciated films. He was also the producer and director of the film. Cha Cha Cha introduced Bollywood to now-infamous yesteryears actress Helen. The film also introduced India to the 'cha cha cha' dance.
Shakti Arora had shared an adorable photo with his grandfather in early 2019. One can see Shakti Arora smiling away with his grandfather. Arora had shared the photo with a sweet caption that read, 'My grandfather at his smiling best. #chandrashekhar #veteranactorchandrashekhar #nanaji #humfilmihain #96andgoingstrong.”
Shakti Arora is a familiar face on the small screen. He has appeared in shows like Tere Liye, and Pavitra Rishta.
