Samantha Akkineni wraps up shoot for remake of Tamil film '96'

The shooting of tamil movie 96 is over and the film's heroine Samantha Akkineni feels special about the same

Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha starrer '96' movie which came out as a romantic drama became a blockbuster. Now, the same movie is being remade in Telugu.

 
Samantha is playing the female lead in this movie and is going to romance young Hero Sharwanand. Prem Kumar who helmed the original version is wielding the megaphone for this project. Govind Vasantha who composed tunes for the Tamil version is scoring music for the Telugu version as well. As per the latest reports, the the movie unit has finally wrapped up the shooting of the movie. Revealing the same, Samantha tweeted 'And its a wrap !! Another special film and a role that has challenged me to be better than I was yesterday.. Thankyou to my director Prem and costar Sharwanand for being a dream team #Janu .. living my best life . Grateful always'.
 
The movie is going to mark the first collaboration of Samantha and Sharwanand. Also Gouri G Kishan who played the younger version of the female lead in Tamil version is reprising her role in the Telugu version as well.
