Taapsee Pannu to feature next in ‘Looop Lapeta’: Hindi adaptation of ‘Run Lola Run’

Taapsee Pannu will feature as the lead of film ‘Looop Lapeta’, the Hindi adaptation of a German thriller film ‘Run Lola Run’, along with Tahir Raj Bhasin.

The very talented actress Taapsee Pannu is gearing up for her film ‘Thappad’ to hit the theatres on 28th February 2020. Amidst the promotions, the actress took to Instagram to announce her next film, and she’s already receiving a lot of applause for the same. She will feature as the female lead in the Hindi adaptation of ‘Run Lola Run’ a 1998 German thriller film. The original film’s written and directed by Tom Tykwer. The German film featured Franka Potente as Lola and Moritz Bleibtreu as Manni. The film’s narration is situation oriented when a woman named Lola needs to get 100,000 Deutsche Mark within the span of twenty minutes in to sustain her boyfriend’s life (Manni).
 
Tapsee will play Franka’s role, while Tahir Raj Bhasin will play as her boyfriend. The Hindi adaptation titled Looop Lapeta and filmmaker Aakash Bhatia is directing the film. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Taapsee said that she’s excited to be a part of such a project, where a foreign classic is being adapted into the Indian milieu without compromising its essence. She says she loves the character and that she can’t wait to fit in her shoes. The movie is a new-age thriller-comedy, packed with sassy humor. The film will reach theatres in January 2021. Dr. Vinay Chhawa Chhawal and Ketan Pedgaonkar are responsible for getting the film together since before them, the makers of the film worked with various writers for three years. The shooting schedule kickstarts at Goa, 2020.
 
Run Lola Run, screened at the Venice film festival. At the 71st Academy Awards, it got selected as the German entry for the Best Foreign Language Film, but, it remained unnominated.
