We are already aware that a biopic is being made on former actress and ex-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha. Titled Thalaivi, this film features Kangana Ranaut in the role of Jayalalitha. The makers have already revealed the first look of Kangana a few weeks back. Yesterday, they have unveiled the first look of Aravind Swamy, who is playing the role of MG Ramachandran in the film.

MGR played a crucial role in Jayalalitha's film as well as the political career. Director AL Vijay thought that there would be no one other than Aravind Swamy to play this role. When offered, Aravind Swamy also readily agreed to do it. Apparently, the actor is a perfectionist and he tried his best to resemble MGR in the film.

Director Vijay said that they didn't want Aravind to imitate MGR but resemble him. Thus, the actor has watched most of the works of MGR to know the nuances of the latter's acting. He also attended quite a few workshops as well. Vijay also said that Aravind Swamy asked his dentist to make his teeth look like MGR. Such was his dedication towards the role. Aravind sported sight different looks before finalizing this one. Vijay added that they are yet to shoot the political portions of MGR. He said that they will make Aravind Swamy look more powerful in that getup. Thalaivi is tentatively slated for the release on June 26th, 2020.
