Batti Gul Meter Chalu Story
The two Kapoors that didn’t pair up so far was Shahid and Shraddha and with Batti Gul Meter Chalu, the unfulfilled dream meet its destination. Shahid is being seen on big screen for the first time after the magnum opus Padmavathi. While there was not much hype about the movie, let’s dive in to see how his stint in this movie went on. The story entails three pivotal characters- a canny lawyer,SK played by Shahid Kapoor, spreadheads od ruses, living off of blackmailing corrupt businessmen that take part in malpractices,a small town bubbly girl,Nauti (Shraddha Kapoor), an budding fashion designer and an aspiring businessman,Tripathi share an indissoluble friendship. The story starts off with a moderate pace of events with the trip, depicting their intricate bond and also the hills of Uttarakand. The first half aims more at corroborating their connection. But all the la-la land comes to a halt when Tripathi's business crashes down by an electicity bill,a massive one of 54 lakhs.SK presents his pursuit in the court,a pursuit to fight the corruption and all bad things prevailing in our country. He emerges from a care free lad to a responsible citizen in the second half and the movie swiftly takes off with the mission of curbing inequality the common man faces, electricity, rather its scarcity being one of the predominant ones. Shraddha Kapoor plays the role of a perky girl and Divyendu with his suicide attempt stirs up Shahid's character. The augment to the drama towards the end of the film covers up for the parts prior to it Yami Gautam appears too,as a lawyer in the second half but doesn't leave a remarkable impact.Director Shree Narayan Singh hasn't left any stone unturned in bringing dire issues to the focus of public attention with his movies like Toilet , Ek Prem Katha and Batti Gul Meter Chalu Ayushman Mahaley has exhibited alluring landscapes of Uttarakand with his cinematography.Kalyan and Vikas, two characters with their analogous narration complete the movie. If the movie is deficient of something, then it has to be proportion of pace. Nevertheless, it’s a movie one can watch to rant about the prevailing social issues in the society.
