Rakshasudu Review: Gripping and intense
Rakshasudu Movie Summary:
A psycho killer who brutally murders children is on the loose. Arun (Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas) is a wannabe director-turned-police officer who tries to crack the case.
He then tries to fight the system and stop the psycho killer from executing any more murders. This is the story of a spine-chilling Rakshasudu.
Rakshasudu Movie Performances:
Perhaps for the first time, Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas has attempted a role that is devoid of hero worship. Though his expressions are ordinary, he tries his best to pull off the role.
Anupama Parameswaran has very little to do in Rakshasudu. In her given time, she has performed her role to perfection.
Rajeev Kanakala is seen as Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas's brother-in-law and his expression during an important scene will make you cry for him. Vinodhini Vaidyanathan as Arun's sister is excellent as well.
Rakshasudu Movie Positives:
It is safe to say that Rakshasudu is a frame-to-frame remake of Tamil superhit film Ratsasan. Director Ramesh Varma has done a perfect job in executing the film with a tightly packed screenplay.
In fact, the screenplay of Rakshasudu is its major plus point as it makes the audience engrossed in the happenings.
Music by Ghibran was the second hero of Ratsasan and it is the same in Rakshasudu as well. His music and background score will haunt you for days to come.
The interval and pre-climax twists are executed perfectly well and will give you a major high when you don't expect it to happen.
Rakshasudu Movie Negatives:
The love scenes between Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Anupama Parameswaran are a bit boring and gets a stale treatment.
The pre-climax sequence looks a bit stretched and it looks like it was dragged just for the sake of it. This will probably test the patience of the audience.
Rakshasudu lacks the freshness of the original but it comes close to it. The translation in Telugu has been done well except for minor errors.
Rakshasudu Movie Verdict:
Rakshasudu is a must-watch thriller for lovers of this genre. It might appear a tad bit long, but it sure has plenty of moments that will keep you entertained till the very end.
