Student of the Year 2 Movie Tagline:
Karan Johar's version of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander.
Student of the Year 2 Movie Story:
The story revolves around the race to the Student Of The Year trophy, a superficial competition where girls only cheer from the sidelines while the boys battle it out on the field. Of course, academics do not feature at all in determining who is the best student, all it takes is a running race and a kabaddi match.
Rohan Sachdev (Tiger Shroff), a kabaddi champ from Pishorilal Chamandas College, follows his childhood sweetheart Mridula Chawla (Tara Sutaria) to the prestigious St Teresa's College on a sports scholarship. However, Mridula has now "evolved" into Mia, and Rohan must woo her afresh. Meanwhile, he gets off on the wrong foot with rich girl Shreya Randhawa (Ananya Panday), who is determined to make his life miserable.
There are some manipulation and heartbreak, which results in Rohan getting kicked out of school and issuing a challenge to star student and two-time winner of the Student Of The Year award Manav Singh Randhawa (Aditya Seal) that he will walk away with the trophy this time. How Rohan takes up the challenge and overcomes all the hurdles to win the Student of the year competition is the rest of the story.
Student of the Year 2 Movie Performances:
Tiger Shroff was a perfect fit for the role of Rohan Sachdev in the movie. He can dance, good at sports and has the innocence and body which make girls like him. But as soon as he starts to act – he reminds you that he still can’t. He definitely looks good with that unmatchable physique; it’s just this isn’t the kind of film for him.
Ananya Panday, the charming relief of the film, tries too hard to make her presence feel. There’s no doubt about her alluring appearance but she needs to prove a lot before gaining any points in the acting department.
Tara is sidelined! Her character is written lazily & it just doesn’t justify a glorifying debut. She’s hot but she’s lost tries to fulfil director’s bleak vision.
Aditya Seal is decent but has nothing much to contribute to the film. But he was worthy opponent chosen wisely against Tiger Shroff. His attitude towards his character was very genuine.
There is a lot of guest appearance's in the movie, the previous part student Alia Bhatt who does an item number with Tiger Shroff and we have Will Smith all the way from Hollywood dancing to the tunes of Yeh Jawani Diwani song.
Student of the Year 2 Movie Positives:
For teens, the movie has all the elements like the youthful cast, Colorful sets, few songs, happening college, music and some humour is what makes the first half.
The colourful cast of the film
The Love triangle was something that kept the film alive
A lot of money has been shelled out on making every song and event colourful and full of life which brings a good presentation on screen
Student of the Year 2 Movie Negatives:
2 hours 30 mins were too long for this predictable story which everyone can guess watching the trailer.
Nothing new to offer from the previous instalment its the same old story tweaked with different actors
The action was way too much for a college drama and seemed away from reality
The film all and over lacked logic and reality, nothing in the film looks real or relatable to a college it was way too fairy
Except for 1 or 2 catchy dialogues, there was nothing more for the actors to mouth and it was irritating to hear that dialogue Din Tera tha Saal Mera Hoga over and again
Seemed like kabaddi was the main focus of this film as every some time you could spot someone or other playing kabaddi and the climax was all about kabaddi.
Student of the Year 2 Movie Verdict:
The plot is pretentious and is topped with amateur acting. Miles from reality, this movie brings absolutely nothing new to the table and compels you to put up with 2 hours of overacting and unbelievably silly scenarios and music. Apart from two new faces to the industry, this movie does not contain anything great. At all.
Save yourself nearly 3 hours and probably go only if the tickets are free and you have literally nothing else to do. With a short dress, cheesy looks and open abs this movie will welcome you and leave you giving a headache.
