Bomb Blast In Railway Track; 7 Year Old Boy Killed In West Bengal

The incident took place around 8.30 am yesterday on the railway track at Bhatpara between Kakinara and Jagaddal stations, 30 km from Kolkata.

A seven-year-old boy was killed in a bomb blast on a railway track in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district yesterday. Two people were injured in the blast. The incident took place around 8.30 am yesterday on the railway track at Bhatpara between Kakinara and Jagaddal stations, 30 km from Kolkata.
 
The boy was playing with his two friends with a packet he got from the roadside. The police said that suddenly the packet exploded. Someone had planted a bomb on the railway track to detonate it. However, the national media reported that a police officer said that the children thought it was a ball and exploded while playing.
 
The boy got killed on the way to the hospital. The seven-year-old boy, along with the other two, was rushed to the hospital after the incident took place.
 
After the explosion, all three children were rushed to the hospital, but one died by then. The police informed us that two other injured children are undergoing treatment. The police added that a detailed investigation is underway into the incident.
