In recent assembly sessions, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had said that there was no word called Capital in the constitution, however, it had mentioned as Administration Place. He added that Chief Minister happens to be the head of the government and secretariat and that CM can operate the government from wherever CM wants to do so.

For this, there wasn’t any need for a law or a bill and the government has the power to decentralize it, according to Jagan. Jagan reminded that Jayalalithaa had run the administration from Ooty. Jagan while pointing out at Chandra Babu Naidu said that even Chandra Babu Naidu had done the administration from Vizag for about 10 days at the time of Hudhud cyclone. The decision of running the government from a place where the Chief Minister wants falls under Rule 174 of the Indian constitution, according to Jagan.

He even told that the TDP and Chandrababu were doing politics on decentralizing the capital. On his such comments, Chandra Babu Naidu objected saying that Jagan is lying as Jayalalitha had never run the administration from Ooty and was just taking rest in Ooty while also doing her day to day activities, which were common.
