Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple took to Twitter on Wednesday to share a short video regarding Coronavirus. Cook revealed that Apple is making a donation of over 10 million masks to healthcare workers in the US. The multi-millionaire captioned the video writing, 'Proud to share we’ve been able to source 10M masks for the US and millions more for the hardest-hit regions in Europe. Our ops teams are helping to find and purchase masks from our supply chain in coordination with governments around the world.'
In the video Cook says, 'These people deserve our debt of gratitude for all of the work that they're doing on the front lines.' The head of Apple also said that he has been working from home lately. He advised his followers to follow the health protocol and stay home.
'Our teams at Apple have been working to help source supplies for healthcare providers fighting COVID-19,' he added. 'We're donating millions of masks for health professionals in the US and Europe. To every one of those heroes on the front lines, we thank you, ' he concluded.
Previously US Vice President, Mike Pence announced that tech giants will be making donations of N-95 masks in America. In lieu of the novel Covid-19 virus, there has been an acute shortage of masks around the country.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also shared news about donating over 750,000 masks. Apple took a blow at their market earlier this year when the company shut its outlets and factories in China and other parts of the world.
