COVID-19 UPDATES: With 1.45 lakh fresh cases, India records the highest single day surge

In the last 24 hours, India reports a record-breaking surge of 1.45 coronavirus cases and 794 deaths

The increasing cases of coronavirus have become a worry for India and its citizens. While many states and cities have announced various forms of lockdowns and curfews, the increasing cases don't seem to have a stop. In the last 24 hours, the nation has reported the maximum single-day surge of 1,45,384 cases ever since the pandemic began. The number of deaths that have been reported are around 794. While 77,567 cases have been discharged, the number of active cases all over the country account for 10,46,631.
The vaccination drive has started in full swing with around 9,80,75,160 people vaccinated so far. Yesterday, the Rajasthan government-imposed night curfew in around 9 cities including Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Abu Road. The curfew will start from 6 pm to 6 am and has been imposed till April 30th.
Yesterday, Delhi reported around 8521 cases and 39 deaths, taking the toll of active cases to 26,631. On the other hand, Maharashtra reported around 58,993 cases and 301 deaths in the last 24 hours. Tamil Nadu reported around 5441 fresh cases and around 23 deaths yesterday
