India defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs on the third day of the first Test in Indore on Saturday. This is India's third straight Test victory by a margin of an innings. India, who have now won six straight Test matches, will next face Bangladesh in their first-ever Day-Night Test at Kolkata's Eden Gardens from November 22. Team India opener Mayank Agarwal got the Man of the Match award.
India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has broken into the top ten of the latest rankings for bowlers in Test cricket, climbing eight places to the seventh spot. Shami's 790 rating points are third-best for an Indian pacer with only Kapil Dev (877) and Jasprit Bumrah (835) having recorded more points. Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal reached 11th position in rankings for batsmen.
