After losing the toss and having to bat first, CSK posted 218 on the board thanks to some serious pinch-hitting from Ambati Rayudu who scored 72 off 27 against his former team.
In response, Mumbai Indians got off to a very good start as they scored 58 runs in the power play without losing a second wicket. But they lost their way soon after and at the halfway stage the situation wasn’t quite in favor of Mumbai as their batting scorecard read 81-3.
This is when CSK’s arch-nemesis Kieron Pollard came out to bat and started terrorizing opposition bowlers with his sheer power and clean hitting. He took on each and every CSK bowler and put them to the sword. The big-hitting West Indian batsman scored 87 off just 34 balls to hand his side a crucial victory.
There is a famous saying in IPL that Mumbai Indians is the only team that can win for literally any position and they prove it right as the men in blue scored a record 138 runs in the final 10 overs. No other team has scored more runs in the final 10 overs of a game. Also, this is the first time Mumbai has chased a target of over 200. It is the second-highest chase in the history of IPL. But this defeat wouldn’t hurt CSK much as they still sit on the top of the table.

WHAT. A. WIN for the @mipaltan
