It is well known that KCR took 48,000-odd TSRTC employees back. In a major relief to employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation, chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday said that the entire 48,000-odd workforce can re-join their duties on Friday.

The Chief Minister, speaking to the media after a six-hour-long Cabinet meeting at Pragathi Bhavan, also announced a slew of measures including an immediate financial assistance of Rs 100 crore for the ailing corporation, increasing bus fares by 20 paise per km that would generate Rs 750 crore annually, setting up of a workers’ welfare council to look into various issues and jobs for the kin of RTC employees who died during the strike period.

With the TSRTC issue getting a happy ending, CM KCR has now directed the officials to arrange a meeting with RTC employees. On Sunday this meeting will be held at Pragathi Bhavan at 12 Noon.

However, KCR directed the officials not to allow RTC JAC or union leaders at any cost as he opined that they are polluting the employees with bad ideas. Yesterday at the press meet, KCR criticized union leaders who led an unsuccessful strike and added that there is no question of meeting union leaders for talks and he would not encourage them at all hereafter.

So, the unions in RTC are going to have a hard time for their unsuccessful attempt as KCR vowed that eliminate unions in RTC and in its place, it would appoint two officials at every depot who would like into the issues of employees. Are they left with any choice now?
