As a support of the RTC employees in Telangana who has been holding strike for a few weeks, Congress party gave a call for 'Chalo Pragathi Bhavan'. Hence, prominent Congress leaders including Congress MP Revanth Reddy, former Union Minister Sarve Sathyanarayana, senior Congress leader Shabbir Ali, among others were under house arrest on Monday.
However, the police failed to find the whereabouts of Revanth Reddy since last night. MP Revanth Reddy managed to escape from house arrest but was later caught and detained. Revanth Reddy appeared near Pragathi Bhavan wearing a black shirt and jeans.
Tension prevailed as Cops tried to stop Revanth and his Followers. Still, The Firebrand Leader tried to move forward. Dramatic visuals happened outside his residence show him zipping away on a motorcycle even as many try to stop him from fleeing.
“The rule of CM KCR, who is playing with the lives of thousands of RTC employees, should end. He should start discussions with RTC employees, he should compensate the families of the employees who have died. To protest his dictatorship and his autocratic rule, we had said we will touch the gates of Pragathi Bhavan and today we did it. Tomorrow, for sure, the 4.5 crore people in Telangana will bring down Pragathi Bhavan,' Revanth Reddy told the media as he was being detained.
In a strategic manner, Congress Leaders planned to surround Pragathi Bhavan one after the other. Security has tightened in the premises and surroundings of CM Camp Office-cum-Residence. These measures resulted in a huge traffic jam from Secunderabad to Begumpet.
