A video of Union Minister Smriti Irani has surfaced online, showing her dancing with swords in both hands at a cultural event called 'Women's Uplifting Forum Program' in Gujarat's Bhavnagar on Friday.

The Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani danced with swords in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district on November 15. She performed a dance while attending a function, which took place at premises of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul.

The video shows sword-wielding women, who are also wearing turbans and armored vests, performing in the background. They were reportedly performing the traditional dance 'Talwar Raas'.

Dancing alongside female artists donning pagdi and armored vest, the minister has seen performing slow movements, stylized gestures resembling sword fight, by managing swords in both hands.

During the cultural progamme that saw girls perform traditional dances, the organizers of the event requested the Amethi MP to join the female performers on stage for the performance of the traditional dance called ‘Talwar Raas’. This is a traditional folk dance form that is popular in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
